How to Kick from an Insanely Far Distance – A Drill Used to Open Up the Hips
The intention of the drill is to force the student to kick from a distance that wouldn’t typically be at “fight range” forces them to turn the foot, to open the hip and to step into a more dramatic angle, forcing the hips “in deeper” into a straight on trajectory versus “across” in a more boxed in range.
In my experience, forcing myself to drill from this range gave me confidence in how long my kick really is, allowing me to snipe from a further distance.
